I talked to a trainer one time who told me that when you lift weights you should not let the two weights connect but come close. I guess, the resting point creates stability, whereas the separation creates tension. If anything, it’s really annoying to listen to.

I agree but I would suggest ju jitsu, Muay Thai is a bit unbalanced. Just my personal oppinion though. =]

what i find good for losing general body weight, is kick-boxing/muay thai
its actually also builds up alot of ab muscles, and they show up after you’ve lost the fat
