Bar Scenes Are Out — International Dating Vacations Are In!

Thursday, October 1st, 2009
Mark Edward Davis asked:

Who says your dating scene has to be restricted to neighborhood watering holes and local women? Now your dating adventures can scan the globe. Many single American men are breaking the cliché of marrying their high school sweethearts, instead choosing Tatyana over Maryanne. They’re combining vacations and dating and finding exotica experiences never known before.

This is not about mail order brides or Internet dating but rather getting eye-to-eye with incredible women from the newest dating hotspots in Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe. Many of the Miss Universe finalists have hailed from these overlooked countries year after year. Well, they are overlooked no more. The secret is out. These women are fit, fashionable, and friendly and attracting international attention.

Global Dating Facts

This itinerant quest for love is taking thousands of North American men to other continents. This trend in global romance is leading to thousands of marriages every year. According to the International Marriage Broker’s Regulation Act of 2005, 10,000 men a year are saying “I do” to international sweethearts. U.S. immigration statistics indicate that the divorce rate of men who married foreign women is 20% — well below the American marriage statistics.

The Tour Experience

Today, travel organizations exist for the sole purpose of taking men on what is termed a “dating vacation.” The usual scenario takes place in a banquet facility or established night club in a foreign country of the man’s choosing. Once there, he and 25 other men will be introduced to 150 to 200 women at each of these socials.

This variation of speed dating, supported by interpreters, enables you to strike up a conversation and whittle your choices down to a Top 5. You then have two days in that city to go on exclusive one-on-one dates with each of your top picks before traveling to the next two cities where the entire process is repeated.

Myths Debunked

There are surprising reasons foreign women will prefer you over native men. Truly, it’s not the green card that these women are looking for; but a faithful man to make a family with. Many countries have populations where there are more women than men — in the millions! The men have no motivation to be faithful or even desire to settle down. Russia has twelve million more women than men and they are paying Russian couples with big cash incentives if they will marry!

These women are not uneducated villagers, but modern educated women looking for compatible mates and finding a small pool of native eligible bachelors. They are not trying to escape poverty or leave their country, necessarily, but the quest for a loyal man eludes them at home.

What to Expect:

The itinerary for a Dating Vacation goes as follows:

• Departure from a gateway city, usually New York or San Francisco.

• Guided coach transportation to all events.

• Three fully catered, invitation-only Socials with different women attending each one.

• Professional interpreter services during Socials and at the hotel, including 24 hour foreign and American hospitality — it’s white glove service all the way.

• Stays extend from 10 to 45 day in top-rated international hotels.

I can personally attest that global dating vacations work, having gone on numerous ones. I dated dozens of women on four continents before I met and married my Ukrainian beauty.

The Brazilian Trifectav- A Guys Perspective From Rio

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009
Robert Murgatroyd asked:

Ok, now that I’ve got your attention, let’s be honest here, there really is something umm unique about our South American female friends. Brazil has had some rather interesting ‘exports’ of interest. Many of these exports have benefitted us men immensely. I introduce to you what I call ‘The Brazilian Trifecta’- The Brazilian Bikini, the Brazilian Wax and the Brazilian Butt.

I just got back from the beaches of Rio and quite honestly it’s hard not to notice how the women value a very distinct kind of sensuality there. Not the slutty bleached blond bimbo variety that we have come to know and love here in the States. But, rather the, ‘I own this sh*t’, and I’m going to torture you with it kind. Let’s explore the first of the above three trifecta. The Brazillian Bikini. Feared by many women around the world and endorsed by all males, who, well…breathe.

The Brazilian Bikini: Here’s the rub on this one (that was an unintentional pun) Brazilians wouldn’t dream of going topless, conversely, women would consider it in the States (and often do in places like South Beach). Brazilians wouldn’t think of wearing a full bikini bottom but it’s our ladies bikini of choice in the States (Brazilians find it just too ‘granny panties’ for their taste). Many in the States see the ‘Brazilian cut’ and scream ‘slutty thong’. So who’s right? I think the short answer is- they just work what they got! And what they got- is a crazy Brazilian butt! Which leads me to number two in my Trifecta.

The Brazilian But: What they heck is this thing anyway? You can spot it from space without using the hubble telescope. I think Justin Timberlike said it best “she looks like a model except she has a little more a**”. It’s like two perfect well shaped legs with this perfect thing on top. Hard to describe but you know it when you see it. Women know it all to well. In fact women are so aware of it that butt implants are now in the top 5 of the most performed female plastic surgeries. Google “butt implants”, I dare you, your computer will blow up. This leads me to the third and final area in my trifecta- The Brazillian Wax.

Brazilian Wax- Without the Brazilian wax, the Brazilian bikini would be impossible! Every now and again the god’s shine down on men for no good reason at all and throw us a bone. The Brazilian wax is just that bone. Since necessity is the mother of invention, it makes perfect sense that when a girl wears a bikini that almost disappears, unless she wants to look like Chewbacca she needs to take care of her business down there. Men, listen closely, their down side is our upside! The possibilities here are limitless! Trust me here- I got your back.

I say long live Brazil and thank Christ the Redeemer for their little contribution to my already amazing life.

Rio Carnival : Muses on Debate

Saturday, November 15th, 2008
Andre Skowronski asked:

During Brazil’s Carnival, one of the most disputed (and sometimes controversial) unofficial contests is deciding who was the “ultimate muse”, after the four-day party holiday is over. Brazilians, international press, and publicity agencies, reflect upon who was the most dazzling drum queen or parading muse in Rio’s Sambadrome. There is no official title for this informal contest, but national media always try to elect Carnival model number 1. Many criticize this “new” beauty frenzy. People question why does this vibrant contest even exist? Is it a sin to be a muse in the Brazilian Carnival? Is it there any problem in being attractive, sensual or graceful? This is main topic of this article.

Celebrities, actresses, models are usually selected and the top Brazilian beauty during the Carnival holidays. Carnival muses are extremely well paid by the publicity market and pampered by top samba schools. The beer, retail, cosmetics and fashion industry are some of segments that constantly rely on Brazilian models to support their brands. Actresses, celebrities, and performers legitimately see carnival as an opportunity to cash in the investment they have made along their carrier in their mythical attributes. Many of them enhance their media visibility in the samba parade, while being evaluated for movie and TV soap operas casts and TV shows. Nothing wrong with that! Although we have seen some infuriated perspectives, beauty has its decisive place when appropriately shown.

A famous quote by “The girl of Ipanema” songwriter Vinicius de Moraes says: “The ugly will pardon me, but beauty is fundamental,”. Nothing new since “Beauty is truth, truth is beauty” from Keats “Ode on a Grecian Urn”.

Amanda Fran?o – model and talk show presenter

Juliana Paes – Model and Movie Actress

Sabrina Sato – model, TV presenter and comedian

Graziella Massafera – model and TV actress

Natalia Guimar? – Miss Brazil

Mirella Santos – model and dancer

Gracyanne Barbosa – Model and Mangueira Drum Queen

Paola Oliveira – TV Actress and Model

All of these beauties reached the limelight in Brazil (and abroad) not only because of their natural gifts, provided by genes, sweat and tears. They have true talents such as representing, dancing, modeling and other artistic expressions. Beauty alone is incapable of lending more than the Andy Warhol’s original 15 minutes of fame. Muses have much more to offer in their souls than symmetric lines and sensual poses.

I leave you to make the final call who is the ultimate carnival muse in 2008. The important point to notice is that most of these muses deliver wonder and magic to earth largest popular show, which is the Brazilian Carnival. I believe Brazilian women are authentic in every aspect of their vibrant personalities. Brazilian Carnival is obviously much more than this. (In the collective unconscious abroad, Brazilian carnival is sometimes linked to nudity).

Brazilian women are indeed magically esthetically gifted, and again, I personally think there is nothing wrong with that. Beauty has been worshiped since the Greeks, Romans, and even before, when our ancestors walked the African plains. Many evolutionary psychologists point out today that back in the pleistocene days, beauty was an important fitness indicator. In essence, the beauty debate is a much more complex issue than a simple dichotomist approach can imagine.

Strawberry Woman at the Rio De Janeiro Carnival Parade

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008
Andre Skowronski asked:

we still have more than 160 days to go for Rio 2009 Carnival, backstage parade negotiations for technical posts and drum queens are at full speed. Didn’t understand? Let me explain you: Carnival in Rio has several activities throughout the year, but some of its highlights before the official Carnival Parade, are the samba school theme definition and drum queen contests. Both of these activities are organized by Rio´s Samba Schools, between carnival ´s official end and the parade in the following year.

Over the last years, the Rio Carnival has become more and more professional, when it comes to the grand parade at Rio´s sambadrome. Samba Schools today hire a full range of professionals, from musical directors to drum queens that make sure their parade shines in a glittering harmony. These artists specialized themselves in what is known to be the worlds largest and most magical live show – the Carnival Parade in Rio.

Today, just like soccer or basketball players, these professionals became extremely precious assets to a Samba School in Rio. Some of these professions include float engineers, stylists, hairdressing artists, artisans, drum queens, flag bearers, costume designers, musicians, and general managers. In the past, most professionals were linked to a specific samba school or community. Today it is not rare to see an elite stylist being hired by a major Samba School, and being paid with big money. Samba schools sometimes receive hard cash with grants and sponsors, which makes all of these negotiations possible. Last month for example, one of the major Samba Schools in Rio called “Beija-Flor” announced its possible partnership for the 2009 Rio Carnival with Anglo-Dutch consumer product giant Unilever.

For this year, a series of negotiations are already taking place. In the beginning of the year, Max Lopes, one of the greatest Rio de Janeiro carnival directors was announced as the new general Carnival style artist for “Porto da Pedra Samba School”. Another recent negotiation was the hiring of Roberto Szaniecki by the traditional “Mangueira Samba School”, as carnival art director.

Aside from what the carnival community calls “technical posts”, many of the Samba Schools concentrate their efforts in trying to find a high flying celebrity for the Drum Queen position. This is notoriously one of flashiest positions within a Samba School.

Since the end of the 2008 carnival, several new Drum Queens were announced as possible candidates for traditional samba schools like “Viradouro”, “Salgueiro”, and “Porto da Pedra Samba School”. Some samba school presidents use this media frenzy and mystery to enhance and promote their samba school. For now, we have a confirmation of the Drum Queen post for “Salgueiro Samba School”, which will be dancer and model Viviane Ara? Also, Thatiana Pagung, carnival blogger and one of the most famous Drum Queens in Rio, was already confirmed as Drum Queen for “Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel Samba School”.

In a samba school called “Porto da Pedra” though, we are watching a tough competition with several contenders. At least five different Rio muses are being considered by the samba school´s presidency, including the daughter of the legendary “Girl of Ipanema”, Ticiane Pinheiro, for the glamorous post of Drum Queen.

Other candidates for “Porto da Pedra Samba School’ Drum Queen post are Iris Stefanelli – model and TV show presenter; Luciana Picorelli – model, Andressa Soares a.k.a. “Garota Melancia” (“Watermelon Girl”), and recent Brazil dance muse “Mulher Moranguinho – Ellen Cardoso”, called by the nickname of “Strawberry Woman”. It seems like the 2009 Rio Carnival Parade will be exciting to watch with all of these Drum Queens and style artists.
